Biography

Born in Jiangxi (Nanchang), China, 1994
Lives and works in Shanghai

Zheng Yuan (b. 1994, China) is a mixed-media artist based in Shanghai and London, holding an MA in Mixed Media Textiles from the Royal College of Art. His practice bridges traditional craft, artificial intelligence, and botanical science to examine ecological and technological systems.

His work has been exhibited internationally, including solo presentations at the Orchid Conservation Center of China (2025) and group exhibitions at the Guangdong Museum of Art (2026), Pingshan Art Museum (2025), Hanart TZ Gallery (2024), and Goldsmiths, University of London (2025). Notable commissions include projects for the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A, 2025) and King Charles III’s Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle (2023). Yuan has also served as a visiting lecturer at the China Academy of Art and Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology.
